I absolutely love vintage because it allows me to reinvent any item I find that's from the past. Vintage clothing and accessories remind me of a time when women got dressed to the nines to impress not just their men and friends but for themselves! classyvintage I love the memories it provokes and if older than that I love looking up the history behind it. I've bought items from local people and always try including the stories with the items. I have a 1970's suede bag that I found a little bit about it and included with it🌻 the differences in how the times are made from yesterday to today are also fascinating

True Vintage items all have a story and they're so well made-they've withstood decades and we're still able to wear them today. I love the way I feel when I find a great piece! It provokes a good feeling...Unique, eclectic and original promotes a since of confidence in what I wear-Knowing not many people would be wearing the same thing. 😊

smlatour I totally agree with you. I love that with vintage pieces you're not confined to wearing what's "Trendy". You can pick clothing that truly expresses who you are that feels good. Vintage clothing is like artwork to me. I appreciate the clothing design, shape and character from different time periods and the feeling that those pieces evoke. Why limit yourself? chiefofstyle So many things...probably too many to mention here, but I'll share a few: I love that there are no rules with vintage. While most women tend to follow certain "rules" when it comes to modern-day fashions, I love that anything goes with vintage. I've turned skirts into scarves and tube top dresses; I've cut jackets into vests and t-shirts into tanks and crop tops; and, I've worn belts in a variety of ways. I feel like a clothing designer every time I get dressed!

chiefofstyle ...Also, as far as rule-breaking goes, I love that as a curvy fashionista, I can wear a variety of sizes and don't feel limited to buy my specific size off the rack. I've worn things cropped or more fitted and baggier, depending on the size and fit. In addition, I love that wearing vintage is an environmentally conscious thing to do. It's like fashion recycling and it's very eco-friendly. (Why are we making more clothes when we already have so much rotating around the world?)

While there were trends, ie: hemlines, collars, tie width...etc., it was more about the style & less about mass produced crap with a logo on it! And...lots of my actual closet would be considered vintage as I'm old & purchased well made clothing, and took care of it.

acertainage @ykkonyozippa I came to love vintage clothing late in life. I can remember a time when I wanted everything to be new. Wish I had the mid-century furniture we kids couldn't wait for our parents to replace! Later I came to appreciate the history of things. Old houses, antique furniture, the way certain dresses like your Lucy dress withstand the silly changes of fashion and patiently wait for someone to notice that they are still here, still pretty, still deserve a life.

I'm really looking forward to wearing the big fall scarves that seem to abound here on Posh, and also rocking a cranberry lip color to both work and play! I love mixing vintage and new pieces. To be honest, most of the pieces I've gotten compliments on are vintage pieces I've picked up over the years. I think it's really all about how you wear it...style is something that really can't be bought.
