VINTAGE Early 1970s London Fog Maincoats Trench Coat Size 10

Step into timeless style with this VINTAGE Early 1970s London Fog Maincoats Trench Coat. Dating back to the early 1970s. this coat is a true piece of American history. After doing some research, I found the main label time period is from the 1960s -1970s. This coat is designed and made by the Londontown corporation. They made these coats during this period. That ended in 1980 when production and design went over seas. The large plastic buttons and stitched button holes are the closure type of the era as is the metal zip out lining and 65/35 Poly Cotton blend along with the waterproof layer. On the side label is has cleaning instructions which started in 1971. That narrowed down the time period to the 1970s. to have the Londontown corporation and the cleaning instructions on the label, lets you know it was made in the mid 1970s. This coat is in fantastic condition. It must have sat in someone's closet, unused, for a long time. There are no stains, rips, smell, or defects. I originally thought it was a new coat. My eagle eye wife spotted the vintage nature and started the research. This is a highly collectable part of fashion history and even more functional and better looking than a new modern trench coat. The quality is much better than a modern London Fog would be.
