Vicki Lawrence grew up a few miles from Hollywood and always aspired to be in show business. She sent her photo to Carol Burnett to show her how much they resembled each other and never dreamed Burnett would cast her in her new television show “The Carol Burnett Show”. During the 11 seasons the show was on the air, Vicki won and Emmy, had a #1 hit record “The Nights The Lights Went Out In Georgia”, and meat and married her second husband who was the head makeup artist on the show. After “The Carol Burnett Show” ended, Vicki got her own show based on ‘The Family’ sketches and “Mama’s Family” became a huge hit in syndication. After that show ended, Vicki continued working, hosting game shows and her own talk show “Vicki!” For two seasons. She continues to work to this day, traveling the world with her one woman show featuring her “Mama’s Family” character Thelma Harper. Vicki signed this vintage publicity still from her talk show in black Sharpie. It measures 8x10 inches and it in very good condition for its age. There is a tiny dent (see photo) and some of the signature has wear (especially the ‘V’).
