When you open it up there is a zip compartment with plastic lining on the top, and a larger zip compartment with plastic lining on the bottom. This bag measures 9 inches in width, and when it is closed it measures 5 inches in height, but when it is open it measures 9 inches in height. The brown bag is a half zip, meaning it zips open half of the way around, it has a very cute blue and brown design on the inside, there is a place on the inside to hold a credit card, or drivers license, and it is perfect for travel or just keeping small things and that you would need. It measures 9 1/2 inches in width and 7 1/2 inches in height.
