Weather you are upcycling old drab buttons or use coins to create buttons, this tutorial will change your button game.
Materials:
Old Buttons or Coins
Scrap Fabric
Thread & Needle
Circle to Trace
Instructions:
1) Start by removing the old drab buttons using a seam ripper.
2) Lay out your scraps of fabric and using about a 1.5" diameter item, trace circles on to the fabric. (I used a tea light candle)
3) Cut out your traced circles to make swatches.
4) Using a running stitch, sew about 1/4" from the edge of the swatch, around the circumference.
5) Now place your button or coin in the center of the fabric swatch and synch the thread so the edges wrap around the coin.
6) Secure the gathered edges with several stitches going across all the gathers.
7) Adhere your buttons to your jacket.
This is a great way to keep the fabric matching in history bounding clothes or simply spice up a tired old jacket. Add a line of these to the collar of your blouse and give it new life. The sky is the limit with this beginners Upcycle Project.
I hope you will drop me a comment about your Upcycle adventure. Thank you for reading. Have a magical day.
