Upcycled Denim Daisy Tutorial
Easily embellish your entire wardrobe with this beginner DIY.
Materials:
Fabric scraps
Marking Implement
Thread
Needle
Circle 1.5"-3" diameter to Trace
Instructions:
1) Lay out your fabric scraps and trace circles 1.5"-3" in diameter.
2) Cut your traced circles out. Set aside 5 fabric circles of the same size.
3) Using a running stitch, fold the circles in half and thread them together along the curved rough edge.
4) Synch the thread to gather the rounds creating the daisy petals.
5) Secure by looping thread back around and going back through the first petal, synching the thread and finishing with a single blanket stitch.
6) To remove the gap, sew the rough edges together with simple back and forth stitches creating a star. Finish with a button for the center.
7) Hide additional stitches on the back with another circle patch sewed on with a whip stitch and secured with a final blanket stitch.
Make a string of these to stitch along a collar or make into a bracelet. This DIY is the perfect afternoon Upcycle activity.
