Unmarked VTG MCM Cobalt Blue Art Glass Heavy Scalloped Round Ashtray 10"D READ This beautiful Mid-Century Modern art glass ashtray features: Pebbled glass bottom, smooth glass on the top interior Starburst design with a scalloped edge 4 grooved rests for cigars are cigarettes Feels heavy for it's size, I anticipate shipping weight up to 5lbs with adequate packaging Has a 10" diameter from side to side and stands 1.5" tall from the table top No markings are noted on the piece but research indicates similar ashtrays were made by Fostoria or Blenko. Preowned, the piece does have a chip in the glass along the top aspect of the scalloped edge (shown in the last picture). In addition, there are noted to be some roughened edges along the seam around the outer edge. In addition to use as an ashtray, it is perfect as a trinket dish, key bowl, or use in decorating, perhaps as a centerpiece filled with flowers.
