U.S. Army Mummy Sleeping Bag manufactured in 1945 This is a two-piece item. A wool sleeping bag with a zipper and a water repellant shell with a drawstring and snaps. Sleeping bag designed for cold weather conditions. It doesn't have a temperature rating; but the inside tag states: "warmth of two blankets." The shell is designed to protect personnel sleeping outdoors from dampness or moisture and there is more warmth when used together as the inside tag states. Shell: Water repellant canvas Insulation: Wool sleeping bag Weight: 7 lbs Drab green water repellant shell with brown wool sleeping bag. It is a mummy style Comes in a "US" stamped drab green carrying case. This model was not issued with a carrying bag; however, the carrying bag shown in the pictures is included. The water repellant shell is in very good condition. The wool sleeping bag is in fair condition. The wool has several small holes in it; smaller than a quarter, some larger than a dime. The water repellant shell was made by the Hettrick Manufacturing Company and the wool sleeping bag was made by Phoenix Clothes Company. Made in the U.S.A.
