U.S. Army Green Military Jacket

From the estate of a former Army officer, this field jacket hails from the pre-1965 era with an aluminum zipper and all snaps and buttons in working order, drawstring bottom to keep out wind. A distinctive feature of these field jackets is the four large pockets on the front: two chest pockets and two lower skirt pockets, all with flaps. This is a vintage U.S. Army field jacket, likely an M-65 jacket or an earlier variation like the M-60. The jacket is a faded olive drab green (often called OD green), a standard military color. It's a heavy-duty, two piece, long-sleeved jacket designed for cold weather, in breathable cotton material, it extends down to about upper thigh.
