This coin was designed by Adolph A. Weinman and features a depiction of Liberty with a winged Phrygian cap, which was often mistaken for the Roman god Mercury, hence the popular name "Mercury Dime". The reverse features a fasces, symbolizing unity and strength, with an olive branch representing peace. The inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" is also visible. It is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper.
