This is a set of two Victorian Era “Misers Purses”. Named "miser's purses" for the difficulty they presented in retrieving funds, these long bags were meant to keep coins in. They have an opening in the center and then two metal rings to close off each section once your coins were safely inside. These are in excellent condition for their age! They could be as old as the mid 19th century (150+ years old! 😳) Both purses have the original metal rings. They are experiencing some fraying of the beads on the tassels but are otherwise in excellent condition! One is about 3-4” longer than the other.
