Up for sale is a beautiful, brand-new-in-box 1998 Special Edition Happy Holidays Barbie by Mattel (Item #20200). This doll has never been removed from her original packaging. The box is securely sealed, structurally sound, and shows only minimal signs of standard shelf wear, making it a fantastic addition to any nostalgic holiday display or Barbie collection. The "Box Back" Visual Variation: This item features the widely discussed packaging variation common to the 1998 release. The prototype product photography printed on the back of the box displays Barbie wearing a shorter fuchsia pink shoulder stole. As is standard for this mass-produced run, the actual doll inside features Mattel's final production choice: a gorgeous, full-length flowing pink satin wrap tied into a dramatic back bow. While online rumors occasionally label this package text/photo discrepancy as a "rare factory misprint," it is actually a production-wide design variation present across nearly the entire blonde manufacturing run. It stands as a fascinating piece of 1990s Mattel production history! Doll Details: • Gown: Luxurious black velvety holiday gown adorned with vertical silver glitter icicle/tree patterns. • Accessories: Fuchsia pink satin wrap accent, silver jeweled tiara, matching earrings, hand ring, and shoes. • Condition: Pristine doll condition under clear, unclouded plastic.
