A vintage sculptural piece made in London England in 1972 for tiffany co. Surely this ring is a creation by Andrew Grima and it was crafted in solid 18 karats of highly textured yellow gold, The design composition of this ring is a Toi et Moi.
Mounted with a pair of oval cuts (10 x 14 x 6 mm) of natural violet purplish amethyst with a combined weight of 16.45 carats.
Have a total weight of 14.9 grams and the actual size is 7, sizeable.
The top view measures are 17 mm (0.67 inch) by 25.3 mm (1 inch) and raise 7 mm over the finger.
Is fully stamped with British hallmarks, the crown marks for the city of London, United Kingdom, the maker's cartouche AG, the letter r for the production year 1972 and signed, "TCO 18 KT".
Andrew Grima, 31 may 1921-26 December 2007, was an Anglo-Italian designer who became known as the doyen of modern jewelry design in Britain. He became the foremost modern jewelry designer in the west end of London in the 1960s and 1970s, selling designs from his exclusive gallery at 80 Jeremy street in Mayfair featuring the world's first Perspex spiral staircase (1970) built by peter rice and Ove Arup. In 1970 he designed the successful "about time" watch collection for omega and in 1976 a collection of gold digital led watches for pulsar.
