Tiffany & Co 18K Gold Elsa Peretti Chinese Zodiac Tiger Necklace Circa 1979

In the Chinese zodiac, here is a list of the years of the Tiger: 2034, 2022, 2010, 1998, 1986, 1974, 1962, 1950, 1938, 1926, 1914, and 1902 This necklace is marked Peretti (near the clasp), 18K (on the Tiger), and 1979 © T&CO (also on Tiger). The young woman at the Tiffany & Co. had never seen this before, and why would she have? It is 46 years old. Vintage Peretti. I didn't, at first know what it was, but when you look at it the right way, it's very obviously a Tiger--or at least a Big Cat of some sort. And it's very difficult to find anywhere on the internet, proof that it's rare in 2025. Just a lovely necklace in a very niche category. I acquired this from an estate from which I got a LOT of jewelry. This is one of 4 Tiffany & Company pieces in that estate. The previous owner was a lawyer, but I can't say that she took great care of her fine jewelry. This was in the bottom of a basket, just loose. But I took it to Tiffany's and they gave me the pouch to include with it because it is an authentic Tiffany/Peretti piece, and being a shiny yellow gold, has maintained an excellent condition.
