This ring stopped me in my tracks. A gleaming gold dome cradles three saturated tourmalines—two lagoon-green ovals flanking a burgundy rubellite pear—totaling ≈ 3.5 ct. Each stone is bezel-set flush to the metal, so the colors read like stained glass floating in a minimalist sculpture.
Highlights
- 14 k yellow gold (stamped), total weight 8.41 g
- Tourmalines: teal-green 1.32 ct • rubellite 1.20 ct • teal-green 1.00 ct
- Eye-clean clarity, very-good cuts; no fluorescence
- Ring size 6 ¼; shank width 3.76 mm – 5.19 mm
- Bezel settings keep the stones secure and snag-free
- Independent appraisal (April 2025) values the piece at $4,120; PDF available on request, hard copy will be included in shipment
Why it stands apart
- Contemporary maisons echo the look—Scosha’s “Beyond The Stars” dome lists at $6,300 with smaller, mixed stones, while Mejuri’s Mosaic Dome is a petite $598 fashion spin.
- Here you get the heft, the carat weight, and an appraisal-backed value—without the five-figure designer markup.
Condition
Very good vintage. The oval tourmaline has a chip which I've photographed and which is noted in the appraisal. It's not especially visible (I only noticed it from running my nail over the stone's surface), and in speaking with my lapidary we agreed it was not worth compromising the setting or reducing the stone size to get it out.
I've been putting off listing this ring—it's special, and I'm so excited for it's next chapter.
