How do you guys feel about declining offers that are sent to you on an item you liked? Or how do you feel when someone declines your offer on an item they have liked?
I always have had the mantra of just letting it expire. 😌 to me, it feels a bit rude to decline. like, the seller is saying "I will take a cut on this", which is kind, and I've said I "liked" aka was interested in purchasing the item, so to click decline would make me feel like I am dissing their kind offer.
poshmark really needs a way to say "hey I like this" and a way to say "I wanna buy this pls send me offers".
how do YOU feel about this topic?

I don’t feel like it’s rude to decline. Maybe the price is still higher than they’re comfortable with. Maybe they’re not ready to purchase just now. Saying no isn’t any more rude than ignoring the offer. I’m not troubled by either.

@theda_b that's what's the counter button is for!!!

@radjacketsareus Yes. please use the counter offer. sometimes I'll offer low, and hope it's accepted, if not I'm willing to go up some. I know with Poshmarks cut my first offer might be to low but counter if it's to low and work with each other for a deal we are both happy with. if you aren't willing to go lower at all, maybe comment firm or no offers accepted.

@heatherarthur14 exactly 💯 I agree w you doll. an offer sent or a counter offer is feels positive, as if people are coming to agreements that both parties are satisfied with. 😌

I don't feel bad declining a rude offer. If I have something for sale for $100 I don't want $50 for it!
Jul 23Reply

radjacketsareus
@lucialuscious1 no no no, that wasn't one of the questions, u misunderstand. not a buyer sending an offer. a seller sending an offer!!!! like, if ur the seller u send offer and they decline, or ur the buyer and they send offer how do u feel about declining it. not low ball offers from buyers, that's not the topic at hand 🙃
Jul 23Reply

lucialuscious1
@radjacketsareus I don't arbitrarily send out offers.
Jul 23Reply

radjacketsareus
@lucialuscious1 you'd make a lot more money if you did 🙃 I'd make like 300 or less a month on this if I didn't do offers and bundles.
Jul 23Reply

lucialuscious1
@radjacketsareus I figure if someone is interested they'll either send me an offer or purchase it.
Jul 23Reply

radjacketsareus
@lucialuscious1 if I figured that, I wouldn't make 75% of my sales, sweets. Try it out on a get items this upcoming Tuesday (Tuesday is the day u can win money on here for sensing offers!) and see what happens!?!

I feel like when I do put an fair offer in and it is flat out declined and no counter seems rude, and I usually find the item with another seller and purchase. 👍😊
Jul 23Reply

radjacketsareus
@xylophonexl no u misunderstand the question, sweets! not an offer put in by a buyer, an offer from a seller! like, how do u feel declining offers sellers send u. or how when someone declines an offer u sent as a seller 😀
Jul 23Reply

radjacketsareus
@xylophonexl but that's a totally righteous way to be! no problems there. if the buyer n seller can't compromise to something that makes both happy, of course! jus the fact ur putting in offers and countering is what this app does best so props to you!

@radjacketsareus I don't like the decline button. I feel it sends a subconscious neg vibe to the other (even if it isn't how they felt). I'm open minded, but it still feels bad for business. It would help if the counter allowed you to keep the discount shipping initially sent. I also feel there shouldn't be restrictions on how many offers can be sent! Maybe a "timed out" period or something like that would be ok instead, idk. Thank you for bringing this to light and sharing w the community 🥰

@snaclerio25 no doll, it doesn't work like that 😀 The like is separate from add to bundle. adding ro bundle doesn't cause a like, promise:) u must be accidentally hitting like while scrolling

radjacketsareus
@snaclerio25 I did just try it to dbl check cause I had a lady added item to bundle Monday that wasnt in her likes below. dbl checked so perhaps u have a bug or need to update ur app?

As a buyer, I know when I send an offer I’d rather have it declined than have to wait for it to expire since they could accept later and then I can’t send another offer to a seller with a similar product that I might also be interested in. Obviously, offers are different from the seller’s side, but if a buyer is thinking they prefer to have an offer declined, they may believe the seller would prefer a declined offer as well!

@j_everitt true true and very interesting view point! thanks for sharing!

radjacketsareus
@j_everitt as far as buyers offers go tho, a seller is an a$$ that ignores those or declines them. they should always be countered if they cannot be accepted. this isn't really about buyers sending offers. it's about sellers sending offers 😝 😉 🤌

Oh thank god I’m not the only one!! It drives me nuts when someone gives a like to everything on my page and then declines every single offer. Or if someone likes something and declines the offer and, months later I’ve repeatedly dropped the price down. So, when the new round of offers goes out months later they’re still declining.
Jul 29Reply

jtongue123
Declines every single one, like 10-25 offers in a row….. I’ve heard when a seller declines an offer from a buyer it messes up the seller’s algorithm but idk if that’s true. If I as a buyer receive an offer and can’t afford it change my mind I just let it expire.
Jul 29Reply

radjacketsareus
@jtongue123 yeah it's very annoying and does come off as rude. if someone repeatedly declines all the offers I send them and I go to their oahe and see they have left zero love notes as a buyer, I just block em now days. they're not gonna buy frm you and I do believe it messes up ur algorithm if u get tons of declines! absolutely agree with you girl!

Sometimes the price is still too high when the seller puts in a counter offer and I still can't afford it and I feel bad turning the offer down but am on a fixed budget too. :( I feel guilty sending in really low offers too.
