Base only. Lights up when tested. Train is inconsistent (sometimes moves slowly and sometimes does not run). Small rattling piece inside you can hear when you move the unit. I have stopped the train when moving to be in the front. Plugs in but also can use batteries (not included). Measures about 7 x 7.5".
