This early 1950s beautifully handmade baby blanket is one of those things that feels special, but you can't really fit into words why... it just does. White crochet is lined with a buttery yellow satin of the softest fabric.
🧐BACK STORY👀This is Brand New Vintage, Unused👀😲 Way back in the 1950s, this blankie was handmade with love for an expectant woman who was convinced that she would have a boy. Everyone else went the logical route & played it safe with neutral canary yellow and mint greens at her baby shower. The woman was outrageously offended by all the non-blue gifts. She banished anything not blue to packed up and put in the attic, vowing never to use them. Well, it worked. The woman had her boy a couple months later, so blue it was and blue it stayed. After 70 years, this blanket and the other segregated baby items with unrequited love have been freed. Some lucky bay is gonna be swaddled in the best of all loves….
