However, their sense of safety is quickly shattered when they discover that they are not alone. There are still a handful of inmates alive and living within the prison walls. The arrival of these prisoners introduces a new level of tension and conflict, as the survivors must decide how to deal with these unknown individuals who have their own pasts and agendas. This volume highlights the central theme that in the post-apocalyptic world, humans can be more dangerous than the zombies themselves. Relationships within the group are tested, and there are significant character deaths.
