This book is the story of a red-haired boy and a red cat. The book received a 1951 Caldecott Honor for the illustrations. This is a hardcover book and is vintage so has wear. There are many pages that were taped long ago and the cover is smudged, but all the pages are there and it still as a lot of life to it.
