Joseph Anderson West was born 5 Oct 1867 at Parowan, Utah to John Anderson West and Mary Jane Robinson. He married Lois Hunt, 5 May 1897. She was born 8 Nov 1873 at Beaver, Utah, the daughter of John Hunt and Lois Barnes Pratt. They were the parents of 7 children, the fourth daughter being Edna West Sant.
