The Letters of Charles Dickens Volume Four Pilgrim Edition. 1844-1846. Edited by Kathleen Tillotson. Clarendon Press Oxford 1977. This is a heavy book, weighs over 3 pounds. Over 750 pages. ISBN 0-19-812475-9 Overall good condition but there are some definite flaws! Please read: Firstly there may have been a dust jacket cover, I’m not sure but if so that is missing. Secondly and most significantly the binding of the book is a slightly off kilter, that’s the only way I can describe it. Somehow the angle got warped , I have corrected it to some degree, actually a lot, over a year you can sort of see it in the photos with the ruler, it is much better now but in the first photo the bottom of the book doesn’t line up straight with the ruler as it should (photo #15) in photo #16 you can see how it has improved! Other than that because there was no cover on the red outer binding there are marks/dust/stains/discoloration, which you can also lightly be seen if you turn the book on it’s side (the outside edges of the pages- photo #10). The inside pages however look very good! Minimal flaws. I don’t detect any writing or tears or anything missing. All the wear is mostly on the outside and cosmetic. Sold as is.
