The Elaine Shop at the Diplomat- Olde World Map Wooden Clutch Purse, Vintage. The tag inside the purse says “The Elaine Shop at the Diplomat, The Doral Bal Harbor Shops, Hollywood Beach Hotel”. This is a really unique clutch purse (I didn’t even realize it was purse at first)- I originally purchased it at a thrift shop years ago and had it displayed as a decoration in my house. It’s in great vintage condition. I’m not sure when it was made, but I would guess the 1950s or 60s based on the design of the inside tag. It’s definitely vintage. The front has an olde world double map decorating it. I took photos of all sides of the purse and there are some minimal scratches or scuffs on the wood, but overall great vintage condition. Inside it is lined with red velvet (I think it’s velvet) with a pouch and there are no visible stains or damage to the inside material. It has a metal closure on top. This is a really interesting purse that can be used as a clutch when going out, but also be displayed or used for storing items. I searched online shops/sites and I don’t see this purse being sold at all so it’s definitely one of a kind. Dimensions are: 6”H x 10”W when closed. It opens to approximately 6” wide.
