It was originally released in February 1974. As with other such packages, the album was compiled by Warner Bros. Records from the Deads' back catalog after the band had left the label. The album contains such "Dead Head" favorites as: 'Truckin,' 'Sugar Magnolia,' 'St. Stephen,' 'Uncle John's Band,' 'Casey Jones' and 'Friend Of The Devil.' 'Skeletons from the Closet' charted at #75 on the US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and was certified Gold Album in 1980.
