Vintage historic Te Ariki travel rug(blanket).
Made in New Zealand at the Onehunga Woolen Mill of 100% virgin wool.
The attached makers label features the Te Ariki, Māori Chief.
Māori Tukutuku panel pattern.
Travel rug is a term originated in Britain for the warm wool blankets used in winter when traveling in open sleighs or wagons.
Onehunga wool has a very interesting history as does the whole of New Zealand.
The mill no longer exists.
Condition appears very good. No noticable flaws found.
