This is a vintage Taylor compensated aneroid barometer.
It is housed in a brass-finish casing, typical of those made in the second quarter of the 20th century.
The dial is graduated in both inches of mercury (around 26" to 31") and millibars (around 850 to 1000 mbar).
The "Compensated" marking indicates a bimetallic strip is used to preserve pressure reading accuracy over a range of temperatures.
These instruments were historically important for navigation and weather forecasting, particularly for mariners. This barometer is in vintage condition as you can see from photos. I was thinking of a steampunk creation. Its approximately 5 inches around and 2 1/4 inches tall.
