The Theyskens' Theory collection is the namesake of its creator, Belgian fashion designer Olivier Theyskens, which had as its premise to approach fashion from the perspectives of accessibility and versatility. Previously Theyskens had achieved critical acclaim for his work on his own label and as creative director at several major houses including Rochas and Nina Ricci. After the success of the initial Theyksken's Theory collection in Spring 2011, Theyskens was formally appointed as Artistic Director of Theory, overseeing menswear, womenswear and accessories in addition to the Theyskens' Theory label. The designer left Theory in 2014, and as such the line closed.
