The album's title loosely translates in French to "White Reggae". The album was a bigger commercial success in the UK, while it reached #25 on the US Billboard 200. Though the albums two biggest singles were initially more popular in the UK, 'Message In A Bottle' and 'Walking On The Moon' have become staples on US classic rock radio stations and streaming platforms. The title track earned the band their first Grammy Award for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance." 'Reggatta de Blanc' has been included in several editions of Rolling Stone magazine's list of "the 500 greatest albums of all time." The album was also certified Platinum by the RIAA in the US.
