Stunning classic vintage handmade black & white tulip dress

Absolutely classic, true vintage, handmade, gorgeous black & white cocktail Dress. This dress is so special and features a fitted scoop-back tank top with high neckline that gently rests under the collarbone, subtle bust darts, an empire waist with a puffy but straight line drop skirt accentuated by a tule liner underneath. There’s a slit in the back that I need to do gentle darning on, it’s a very simple loose seam and will not affect the look of the dress. I highly recommend having someone help you zip into this beauty. The tule liner needs to be gently tucked out of the way to ensure it doesn’t snag. I wore this for a decade. It was given to me by a relative who wore it for decades and it hasn’t been a big issue yet. This was made in the late 50’s or early 60’s. I felt so special every time I wore it. It truly transports you to an Audrey Hepburn movie, a glamorous film premier or a classy ball. It is in spectacular pre-loved condition. There is the very faintest discoloration on the bottom hem from wearing it to a dance (pictured) but it is truly not noticeable when there’s all that stunning dress above it to look at. I would guess that the skirt part is a silk blend but I cannot be certain as there are no tags. I think the top section is polyester cotton blend. I’d encourage a very simple slip worn underneath as the tule section can get a little scratchy, but it’s worth it for that great subtle poof.
