Stunning Art Deco Bohemian Furnace Decorated Iridescent Layered Ribbon Glass Vase
This is an incredibly Stunning Art Deco Bohemian Furnace Decorated Iridescent Layered Ribbon Glass Vase. “Furnace decorated” refers to a glassmaking technique where decoration is applied while the glass is still hot and malleable—directly in the furnace. It’s a high-skill, high-stakes process that blends artistry with heat and timing. This piece is multi layered with an iridescent ribbon where red and orange glass threads were applied during the hot moment in the furnace to produce the ribbon/ iridescent effect. This style of glass blowing originated in Bohemia (Austria/Czech), dates back to the 1930's and is most attributed to the Kralik or Loetz glass foundries.
This vase has a smooth pontil base and measures approximately 9" tall by 5" wide and is in great vintage condition with no visible anomalies.
This vase is a superb example of an eclectic glass blowing art form that exemplifies Art Deco to its fullest. The vase looks fabulous near a light source and would add such a dynamic accent to any environment.
