This little "pot" was sold to me as a teapot. I'm not certain of its actual intended function, but I can see it being used as a teapot. It's very petite measuring 3" wide and 2 1/4" tall. it would hold about 6 oz. If used for tea, you'd pour the tea leaves into the open hole, along with the water. Now, you see, it came with no cork -- so I had to use an old wine cork because it fit! After steeping, you'd unplug and pour it into a special teacup! Viola! Now what I can tell you for sure is that the bottom is signed and it's a very cool piece of great pottery! If you know anything about a vessel like this, please let m know.
