@sdewt467yged hi, these are used so there is some fading in the leather near the bottom of the heel . you can see in the close up. also there is a small tear in the inner lining on one shoe (also visible in my photo I took of the sizing stamp) . when wearing them, you won't notice because it's on the inner not outer part
