Talk about an energetic combination… The meteorite has a beautiful Widmanstätten geometric pattern on it and the Herkimer diamond on top is water clear. Widmanstätten patterns are formed by the slow cooling of the meteorite over millennia. It’s estimated that it took around 1000 years for it to cool by just 1°. Both of these stones were mined and wire wrapped by the same artist. Muonionalusta is considered to be one of the oldest known meteorite impacts and was discovered in 1906 by a 10 year old boy in Norbotten, Sweden.
