Steiff Kinder 'Mathias'. This is number 164 out of a limited edition of 500 worldwide. Mathias is the third piece in the 'Steiff Kinder' series produced by R. John Wright Dolls and distributed by Steiff. Mathias is 17", fully jointed and made entirely of felt. Molded face sculpted by R. John Wright to evoke the early child dolls produced by the Margarete Steiff Toy Factory in the early 1900's. With hand painted features, inset glass eyes, and mohair wig. Costumed in tailored muslin shirt with felt tie, authentically detailed lederhosen made of leather, traditional "loferl" leggings of pieced felt, hand-cobbled leather shoes, and felt brimmed hat. Date of Release: 2008. Includes certificate of authenticity, all original paperwork and all original packaging. This doll is in mint condition. Prior to the pictures, it had never been taken out of the box. I have all 4 in the series - all numbered 164 out of 500. Please reach out if you are interested in the entire series.
