HISTORY
The Royal Scam was released by ABC Records in 1976 during Steely Dan’s most refined studio era. Early ABC issues like this one used independent mastering engineers, including Allen Zentz, whose AZ initials identify the preferred mastering. T-series metalwork and the RE-1 corrected cut on Side A place this as an early, high-quality ABC-era pressing, valued for its clarity, balanced frequency response, and stable stereo imaging compared with later MCA re-cuts.
SHIPPING & HANDLING
All records are cleaned with archival-quality methods and handled only with gloves. Each is placed in a new anti-static inner sleeve and a clear outer sleeve, while still including the original inner sleeve if present. The record ships outside the jacket to prevent seam splits.
(style notes: Steely Dan LP, The Royal Scam, ABC Records 1976, Allen Zentz mastering, AZ pressing, early ABC issue, T2 metalwork, collector vinyl, audiophile LP, NM vinyl copy, classic rock album)
