Antique Spode Copelands Staffordshire Mezzanine/ Meat Strainer Drainer in the Spode's Tower Blue- Royal Saxon/ Flow blue pattern. Collectors Dream! PRICE ALERT! The early Spode Copelands bone china is glossy, thick, and strong, and the Blue and white Tower scenes are bright and crisp. The antique drainer is in excellent condition. The drainer had a very interesting 19C repair that was made to the durable Spode bone china, as you will see in the picture! There are photos of the front gold gilt scalloped edge in the exact spot where the repair was done on the back side. Amazing. The light bright gold gilding on the Spode Blue Tower pattern is rather rare to find & the gold rim & trim in the center drain hole are ALL MINT! The mezzanine drainer is in great working order & a delightful piece for any Spode Copelands, Staffordshire collector! The repair may be as old as the meat drainer, so I suspect this piece could end up in a museum in SW or West Midlands of England some day.
