Yardbird was a self-taught folk potter from Ila, Georgia, in the northeast section of the state. He was inducted into the Northeast Georgia Folk Pottery Museum of Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia, and died in 2012. His work is rare and has many qualities of the older Southern folk potters.
