The “Sophie Dess” label is usually indicative of classic clothing and fine materials and construction. This dress is a fine example. Made of a luxurious silky cotton, the print is of yellow flowers and buds with leaves in pale green. The front bodice is plain without shaping and ends in a tiny piping. Below, at waist, is a panel of smocking done in yellow and green floss. The skirt below is full and gathered. The back is decorated with an open lattice panel in pale green.
