During what was to have been a romantic weekend with his latest infatuation, Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) is forced to stay at his girlfriend's mother's house. Harry develops chest pains and is nursed by Marin's mother, Erica Barry (Diane Keaton). Harry develops more heart and some romantic habits begin to develop. However, some habits die hard.
