Small 6" decorative Japanese porcelain plate made in The Art of Chokin, a traditional Japanese art form of metal engraving originating in the 6th century. These plates were widely used to decorate Buddhist temples and the armour of Samari warriors. Birds are featured in the scene. The plate is gilded in 24 Kt. gold and silver.
