When first putting them on, it seemed the arch was not properly placed, more like elevating my heels. However, after wearing them an hour or so, the insert formed correctly to my arch/foot. The arch support is good, but only slightly higher than the athletic shoes I buy in the $140 range. I bought the gray color, which look really good. $40 shoes a real bargain and I plan to purchase a second pair. These are great for guys like me who like a little wider shoe with decent arch support and still look good."
