Yes they just assume gold! This is a faceted Ruby conundrum which means there are many inclusions but it’s quality is great enough to facet. The color is brilliant. You can tell a genuine Ruby if it fluoresces under UV light. Pictures are included to show this. Also it’s best to see the stone with an open back to verify it’s a genuine stone and not a doublet or triplet. See pictures. It’s a size 8.5 but I test wore it as size 8, 8.5, and 9.
