Silk Suzani Hand Embroidered Tapestry Uzbek Tribal Wall Hanging 20th Century

Magnificent silk hand embroidered Uzbek Suzani with red, burgundy and yellow flowers and purple and green leaves on a dark green field. This is a traditional bag with typical hand made tassels at three points and edged with hand woven material. Most likely this was made for a woman's dowry. The lining material dates this item between the 1920's - 1940's. I bought this from my good friend and antique dealer near Sheberghan while working in International Aide in Afghanistan in 2003. It has been carefully packed away ever since. Approximate Measurements: 16.5" Tall 15.5" Wide 2.75" Fringe 7" Tassels 7" of trim from the top where there is a loop for hanging to the opening of the bag.
