This beautiful and colorful example of vintage glass artistry was produced, signed and dated by noted Glass Artist Peter Ridabock in 1993. This blown glass vase is approximately 3 3/4 inches in diameter, 4 1/4 inches high and weighs 1 pound 7 ounces. Peter Ridabock is an American glass artist known for his complex, hand-blown sculptural vessels and use of controlled designs. He has trained with some of the most influential figures in the studio glass movement including Dale Chihuly, David Huchthausen, and Toots Zynsky. His work is often inspired by natural imagery, such as ocean currents and sea life and is recognizable for its signature look, which involves meticulously planned designs using hand-blown glass shards, canes, and crystal "bits". This technique adds depth and a sense of dimension to his pieces. Ridabock's glass is noted for its substantial weight and a beautiful feel, reflecting his technical skill and artistry as exhibited in this vase. This vase is in excellent pre-cherished condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Please note the magnified picture of the signature was taken utilizing a low intensity "orangish" light on a microscope, hence the clarity of the signature and the color of the vase in this picture. The 2 indoor photos with the ruler show the most accurate coloration of the overall vase which is a “cranberry glass.”
