This is the most fabulous vintage coat, and I have no idea why, in south Texas, I keep so many warm coats, lol. This has been stored in my closet and I can't remember ever wearing it. It's heavy and substantial, clearly real fur of some unknown type (beaver, maybe?). The fur isn't shiny and soft like rabbit, but coarser and heavier in texture.
Style is open lapel with a standup, shawl collar. Thick, short, warm, coat. Lining is black satin. Truly a standout winter piece, especially if you love vintage quality and don't mind fur.
Condition is excellent vintage, to my eyes. It's not a new item--it's vintage (likely '50s), so keep that in mind. However, I think it looks great.
Size not marked. For reference I'm 5'7", size 8ish.
Bust: 19"
Length: 24"
Fit is open and loose.
I ship quickly and pack securely; I also ship in recycled materials. Pet free, smoke free home. No returns.

Hi, what kind of fur is this?

Likely beaver--it's thick and courser than rabbit. However, I am NOT an expert, so you'll want to do your own research.

Hi why is the lining visible on the sleeve in the sixth pic? Is it a rip that’s been mended?

cafe_posh
@kel2154 who knows. it's real, vintage fur for a fabulous price. looks fine on.

I’m not sure what I’m seeing. Is there a separation in pelts on the left arm between the sleeve and cuff? If not, what is the white area shown in the pictures?

@suzqhowe no, it's like a plaid silk lining. when the cuff is rolled as intended, it doesn't show. it's a pretty detail. ive never seen this on my other coats. vintage details were so superb.
thanks for looking!
