These 4 Artist-signed vintage small pottery plate wall hangings were made in Guerrero, Mexico, by artist Carlos Ortiz Solis. The back of each plate has the Artist name, Mexican city & Xalitla, Gra.
Each 5.25” plate is vivid folk art paintings of Mexican landscapes. Each has a different scene depicting beautiful life in Mexico.
Trims include: cobalt blue, orange, fern green & a turq/blue. In one of the plates, we also see the sun & ocean, in another we see mountains & goats, the next is the people working in fields, & lastly are people walking down a hill to the town w/ houses below.
Carlos Ortiz Solis is a collected Mexican artist known for creating folk art pottery. His work, including plates & vases, is typically hand-painted terra cotta w/ a glazed, brightly colored style featuring birds, flowers & intricate designs.
