Set of 2 Vintage 1950s Borghese Figurines Chalkware Niepold Shepherd/Shepherdess ( Shepherd Boy & Girl ). Shepherd boy has been repaired/around the neck. See pictures. Shepherd girl is in great condition no chips or cracks. The Borghese figurines were made by Niepold’s, InCentury, located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, which started production in the early 1900’s. They are made of cast plaster, commonly know as chalkware or plaster of Paris, and painted as if to resemble antiques, often using shading techniques to imitate wear from aging. This is particularly true of this early pair. OBO
