The Zlatno glassworks excelled mainly in the production of luxury glass ever since its foundation in 1833. In 2003, the production of glass ended in Zlatno. Historical records refer to glassware from the town of Zlatno in Slovakia, which was known for its luxury mouth-blown glass. Most notably, a glassworks in Zlatno was the site where chemist Leo Valentin Pantocsek pioneered the method for creating iridescent glass in the mid-19th century.  6 crystal and colour glass, green hot-shaping. The invention was based on centuries-old domestic tradition and it was a symbol of manually produced Slovak glass design from the second half of the 20th century. It was produced until the beginning of the 21st century. Jozef Stanik, glassmaker and designer, began to experiment with the form of this type of glass in 1954. Two years later, the design started to be produced. The success was immediate, both exhibition and commercial. It was prestigious gift. In 1963 it was given to first woman in space Tereshkova. In 1981 it was giving to English prince Charles and his bride Diana as a wedding gift.
