The Sega Pico, aka the Kids Computer Pico, was an educational video game console put out by SEGA! The Pico was originally released in Japan of 1993. Thr following year, Pico was released November 1994 in North America and Europe for the Christmas market.
Made to look like a laptop the Pico was one of the first education-oriented game systems. It is also the first system to use touch controls as the default control scheme. Pico is in a sense, the original Leap Frog. Fun fact, the former ceo of Sega of America went on to work with Leap Frog after developing Pico. Pico came with a style and a touch pad. The touch pad is missing, I am not sure if you can use it without it. Also the av and power cord are missing but those can be replaced.
The game cartridge, known as a story ware is Tails and the Music Maker. A game aimed to teaching kids how to play music.
This is truly a gaming display piece. It is untested, and there's a chance it will not work properly without the yellow touch pad. I did a search and it seems alot of them are missing the yellow pad. It's a mystery!
Bonus! This is a first gen model, 1994. The Tails booklet is neat and shows imagery from Sonic 2.
This piece is sold As Is. It was loved and shows signs of scratches and use. It is still a really neat piece.
Comes from a smoke-free, pet and gamer friendly home.
While people like to brag about having every single console, the question to ask is, but do you own a Sega Pico?
