Schiaparelli vintage mahogany mink & Persian lamb coat, circa 1950s

In that chic mid-century swing shape, this Schiaparelli is worked in Persian lamb (karakul/astrakhan) — those tight, glossy moiré curls — topped by a plush natural mahogany mink shawl collar that frames the face. Fierce bracelet sleeves, slit pockets w/ deep turn-backs & hidden hook & eye closure at the front. This structured A-line shape on this super warm jacket was back then likely layered over evening gowns, But surprisingly cooler now thrown over some slouchy jeans. Inside: champagne satin lining w/ repeating Schiaparelli monogram. The top tag was most likely the fur atelier of that era & embroidered initials the previous owner when luxury outerwear was often custom-ordered & bespoke in nature. Details that place it squarely in the Parisian house of Schiaparelli post-war fur offerings when mink trims were the Paris uniform for evening. Size on tag: n/a (approx M; ~US 6–8). Fit is more relaxed. Can be worn open or fitted with closures Measurement estimates avail upon request.
